USE THE WISDOM OF THE GROUP OR THE WHOLE IS GREATER THAN THE SUM OFT ITS PARTS

A „Round Table“ is no magic trick but an approach which enables people to achieve more together.

We refer to the term „Round Table“ as a procedure to tackle in a cooperative way the challenges of our global society which can no longer be handled successfully by applying „linear“ procedures. Ordinary people, experts as well as those in authority (e.g. councils) come from various sectors to take part in a „Round Table“. Through their commitment they contribute time, ideas, and/or money for the common good. This approach allows them to work out not only solutions for the civil society but also to generate new ideas for projects.

The rules of a „Round Table“ are clear-cut: everyone is equal, everyone contributes  their experience and not their predetermined opinions: everyone works together on a common solution. This kind of approach is new and has to be learned on platforms of the civil society. „Round Tables“ focus on subjects and goals and integrate all participants in a common solution.

This concept of communication will only be accepted if enough people realize that truly sustainable solutions can be generated by mutual consent and that they will not regret having invested time and efforts.

„Round Tables“ can be applied in many fields. At present we use our know-how for the further development of the "Initiative Bürgerstiftungen" of the "Bundesverband Deutsche Stiftungen" and extend this concept aiming at finally providing it for the general public.
