We are convinced that the problems of our time can only be solved if we dare  to imagine the world of tomorrow to be radically different from that of  today. Sustainabe solutions will only be found if people from politics, business, culture, research, and the social sector work together on them.

So that all the players can be integrated within these procedures, we need an effective civil society. This demands a desire to take part, take pleasure in diversity and believe in democracy. This kind of civil society needs to use new models for participation and communication.

As well as the existing linear political processes in the making of decisions, we are in dire need of different procedures for this which respect and integrate the many people with their varying abilities.

Community foundations are the ideal implementation, for us, of this idea. They are local platforms for the civil society, where people gather together, agree on common goals and learn how to solve problems. This is only successful if people focus on a common goal and do not get lost in the jungle of bureaucracy.
